MESSAGE
Whoever God calls He gives Him his promise. Nothing gives us much assurance than the hope His promises release to us. The next thing is that conquerors see failures as a learning process.
Joshua had the promise from God of victory in every battle. God, he knew, was not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent. As long as He has made the promise, it shall come to pass (Numbers 23:19). He started winning his battles. But on one occasion, he was soundly defeated by the people of Ai (Joshua 7: 4-5 NLT). He did not grumble nor quit his assignment but waited upon the Lord with the elders of Israel. God revealed Achan’s sin and he dealt with it. Then they defeated the people of Ai the next time.
Every time you fail in your quest to do something worthwhile, sit back and evaluate the failure. There is a lesson for you to pick up. Failures should not make you quit; they should encourage you to do something better. Always remember that those who quit are never celebrated.
