Theme: The Conqueror’s Mentality
Text: 1 Samuel 17
Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” (V36-37)
Before venturing any project, proper strategic planning needs to be considered. Companies always have their managers sit for hours in meeting planning the way forward for the company. Planning has become an integral part of human living and sustenance. After all, God asks us to go and learn from the ant; the ant teaches us how to plan.
To be a conqueror, you should be able to relate previous challenges to current circumstances. In the previous month, we discussed learning from experiences. David identified two relations in the opening scripture. The first was that Goliath can be compared to the lions and bears. The second was that the God who delivered him from the bears and the lions will rescue him from the Philistine.
It is not enough having the experience, but you should be able to relate them to the current challenge. In solving the current problem, which of my experiences and lessons can use? I conclude by saying that experience does not solve the problem. It only helps you in looking for the solution.
