Text: Matthew 14:22- 32

“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” (V29-30)


The series is coming to an end. To stay focused, we need to be focused on what we think, hear, say and do. This might not be the exhaustive list of the things that need to be focused on, but it serves as a building block to other things we want to be focused on.

There are some of us who have run to Jesus for help. We are faced with boisterous storms that threaten to destroy us. Fortunately, we acknowledge that Jesus is our present help in these times. Out of love, Jesus has welcomed you to cast your troubles upon Him. But like Peter, the storms keep taking our attention and we are still drowning. The drowning is not because Jesus can’t save us, but because we are still focusing on our problems.

Jesus has called on you to drop every worry for Him to handle. In view of that, it is very important you stay focused on the solution and not the problem. So, let’s run our race with endurance by fixing our eyes on Jesus. Stay focused…
