Theme: Stay Focused
Text: John 5: 6-7
When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
MESSAGE
Staying focused on Jesus is very important for us to make it in life. So many things fight for our attention, but we need to prioritise God’s will. There may be storms, but Christ is available for our present help.
There are some of us who have been battling with our troubles for a long time. We may have been wandering, thinking our solutions are stuck to a preconceived idea. As such, we have used this idea as an excuse to reach out to Christ’s offer to help us. Like the man seated at the pool of Bethesda, sick for 38 years, Jesus is at our doorsteps asking us if we want to be well. But our issue is we are still focusing on our preconceived ideas. We are still waiting for someone to carry us into the pool when it is being stirred, even though the healer stands close to us.
Beloved, your breakthrough starts where your excuses stop. When the Grace of God is available to help you out, focus on Him and you will be sorted out. Today is the day you have to make up your mind and drop your excuses.
