Theme: Responding to God’s call.
Text: John 10:26-28
You don’t believe because you’re not my sheep. My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand.
MESSAGE
Having a relationship with God facilitates the response to His call. In the relationship, you understand your place in His divine will and covenant as His colabourer, so at any time you expect His call.
His call to duty may come in many forms. It is just like your boss can ask you to work on a particular task by either reaching you through email, text message, whatsapp, mobile call, through a colleague and any other possible means. Arguably, there may be safer means, say by calling you directly, but in cases of not reaching you, a third party will be involved. The third party carries the message the boss knows is in your job description and is consistent with the work policies. You may question any assignment that you think is inconsistent and then reach the boss for confirmation.
God’s ultimate goal in communication is to speak to us individually. He yearns that every sheep hears His voice and that is why He gave the Holy Spirit to every believer and not a selected few. He uses other people when we are not sensitive to hear His voice as He calls us. Establishing a relationship with Him and learning to hear his voice ushers you into knowing His assignment. His assignment describes His will for you.
