What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
MESSAGE
Let me make a correction to yesterday’s introduction. It should have read this way: “God needed Joseph, a boy who was gifted with dreaming and interpreting dreams to fulfil His prophecy to Abraham. In returning to the land of Canaan, God used Moses, a man trained through the ranks of the Egyptian civilisation to deliver His people”.
The Josephs have dreamt of this new age and wished they could enjoy. The fear of the Lord was the foundation of their character and divine wisdom was the exhibition of their response to situations. In finding a place for Joseph to fit so as to carry out His divine will, God gave him the ability to interpret dreams and suggest solutions to them. In the era of the civilised, there was still a loophole God still found with human wisdom that He filled Joseph with.
Human wisdom will fail because it is limited in its ability to know for sure what the future brings. It only understands the present through the past and tries to predict the future from the understanding they get. He who then knows the certainty of tomorrow then rules. God can entrust the certainty to the people He trusts. And that is what the wilderness prepares you for.
