Text: John 20:26-27
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
MESSAGE
Many of the times, we have the senses ruling our judgements. Striving very much to get evidence, we fail to realise the various signals that may be leading us to God’s will.
The source of the message is as important as the content of the message, Thomas may have not really thought about. Mary and Magdalene could not possibly fake the news of Jesus’ resurrection and even if they could do it, the ten disciples could have not all agreed to deceive him. Focusing on the evidence, He failed to pay keen attention to the congruence in the messages they all delivered. But I really find it interesting Jesus did not respond immediately to his request but came after eight days.
God’s promise will be fulfilled. His word never fails. Even though we may fail to believe amidst the pointers, He will surely pull through at the appointed time. And when He does, he will ask you “are you okay? come over and touch me.”
