Theme: Behold

Text: Isaiah 43:18

“Forget the former things;
    do not dwell on the past.

The gateway to enjoying your Christian journey with God is your personal fellowship with Him grounded on your personal revelation with Him and an acknowledgement of what He has made you.

After revealing who He was and expecting the people to know who He was, we also learnt yesterday that He reminded them of what He had done for them. He bridges the gap between the things He had done for them in the past and what He was about promising them with by asking them to forget the former things and not to dwell on the past. What hinders us from perceiving the move of God is when we are focused on what He did in the past. God has specialised in doing the same thing in different ways. He was going to promise the people of Judah victory from the captivity, but it was important they realised that He was not going to do the same thing He did to the Egyptians; however, He was going to get them the victory.

This is how Apostle Paul explains this: Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14). Do not deprive yourself of your miracle for the day with the acts of God in the past. Behold!!!
