Theme: Be a blessing

Text: 2 Kings 7:1-20

Now there were four men with leprosy sitting at the entrance of the city gates. “Why should we sit here waiting to die?” they asked each other. (V3)

I stressed yesterday on the point that it is your responsibility to be a blessing. This point is going to be built on in the days to come.

We start with this interesting story. The people of Israel had experienced famine. Then Elisha brought a word to the king. God was going to rain abundance of food by morning, but the means of delivery was unknown. As rational as the King’s assistant want, he questioned the logical fulfilment of the promise. But that’s not our discussion. God, to fulfill His word, stirred up the hearts of some four lepers at the outcast of the town to do something. Wait a minute!!! Is God really using people declared unclean to fulfil His word?

God is not a respecter of persons. He pours down rain both on the righteous and the unrighteous, irrespective of where their seed came from. What they do with their fruits is their choice, although He has expectations for them. He rewards those who bless others with their fruits.
