Theme: Be a blessing

Text: 2 Kings 7:6

For the Lord had caused the Aramean army to hear the clatter of speeding chariots and the galloping of horses and the sounds of a great army approaching. “The king of Israel has hired the Hittites and Egyptians to attack us!” they cried to one another.

The lepers were marginalised in the community. They did not have that opportunity to mingle with the citizens lest ask them for food in the famine period. Their challenge gave them the only option of risking their lives to get something to eat. Whatever decision they took temporarily had them only in mind. However, it was God who was causing them to will and to do as He pleased. At the end of their risk taking, God gave them an empty camp to loot as He did His work behind the scenes.

What do we learn today. It may seem you have worked hard for whatever you have now. I agree to that. Well done for taking that risk and initiative. The power to make wealth and riches, however, is from God. We may not see the work He does behind the scenes, but He sure pulled some strings on our behalf. You may have met an empty camp, but be sure God did a miracle you never saw.
