Theme: Manifested to Dominate
Text: 1 Kings 19:14-18
Elijah answered, “Lord God All-Powerful, I’ve always done my best to obey you. But your people have broken their solemn promise to you. They have torn down your altars and killed all your prophets, except me. And now they are even trying to kill me! … But seven thousand Israelites have refused to worship Baal, and they will live.
MESSAGE
In our quest to fill the earth, we are sometimes pressured to feel like we are the only ones facing that fight. Let me share with you an encouraging lesson I learnt some time ago.
Elijah was a man of integrity and an astute prophet of God. He spoke God’s minds and challenged the ball prophets to reveal the glory of God. However, Elijah was pressured to think he was the only prophet who has stood against Jezebel and her evil schemes. However, God revealed to him that I have kept 7000 people who have not bowed to baal for myself and Obadiah had kept a hundred prophets in caves, although he thought he was the only prophet left.
Never be complacent to think you are the only one God is using. The fact you are the one used to publicly confront Ahab does not make you the only prophet. The harvest is plenty, and God is using us in our diversified talents, gifts and purpose to achieve the mission.
