Theme: The Lord, My refuge

Text: Psalm 91:1

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This gets us to the next psalm under study. God is the only one in whom we are assured of security.

The Psalmist reveals that those who want to find rest in the shadow of the Almighty should learn to live in the shelter of the Most High. A refuge is a place where you can run to for relaxation after a weary journey; a covering that shields you from the sun, rain, snow, etc. We all need shelters to keep us safe, a place away from all the troubles in this world.

There is only one assured place you can find safety forever, and that is the shelter of the Most High.  Never does it ignore you from troubles and pressures of this world, but a constant fellowship and communion with the Holy Spirit cushions you from the impact of the troubles. Make His presence your habitat.
