Theme: The Lord, my refuge
Text: Psalm 46:2
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
MESSAGE
We may not stop the natural occurrences from happening. All that we have the choice over is who we run to for safety.
Fear comes when we fail to realise who we are, what we have and whose we are. Even though we may face obstacles of various forms in our quest to fulfil the purpose. The earth may give way and the mountains may fall into the heart of the sea; our life’s achievements and our efforts may seem fruitless, our hopes and ambitions may seem unreachable, but we will not fear. Knowing whose abode we have run to for shelter, we are confident of our security and as a result, will not be afraid.
David puts this in another sentence when he says: “even though he walks through the valleys of the shadows of death, he will fear no evil because the Lord was with him”
