Prayer for understanding
TEXT: Philippians 1:9-10 (NLT)
I pray that your love will overflow more and more and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.
MESSAGE
The purchase of our freedom came with a new self, that was created in Christ Jesus.
As simple as the sentence construction in the previous paragraph seems, it is a concept that beats human understanding. Spiritual things can only be discerned by spiritual people; hence the need to pray for understanding. The mysteries hidden from the ages have been revealed unto us by the Spirit of God; howbeit we need to understand these demystified truths. That will take the Holy Spirit alone.
It is my prayer that our love will overflow more and more and that we will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. May the truth of God’s work for us be communicated in all brevity and power from the Holy Spirit in the name of Christ Jesus Amen.
