Put on the new self
Text: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
MESSAGE
With eagerness and anticipation of what the fellowship with God looks like, let us put on the new self.
Your personality stems from who you are. Your self-identity is drowned in the manifestation of who you were created to be. We are a new creation if we are in Christ. We are not just re-formed, rehabilitated or re-education, be we are created new. As God created our spirit in Genesis, so He does in us if we believe in Christ. We have therefore been subjected to a new master and have a new identity.
Beloved, your old nature has been dealt with and you have been created anew. The deeds of the old self are being done away with by the power of the Holy Spirit who helps us to live the life of this new nature.
