Put on the New self Part 2

Text: Luke 15:22-23

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate.

Who you are should correlate with what you do after a considerable period of time.

Once you believed in Christ, you were translated into the kingdom of light of His dear Son Jesus. As a member of God’s family, He has gives you the Holy Spirit as a seal of ownership over you. Just as the prodigal son returned home and the father gave changed his clothes and had them prepare a nice meal for Him, so God changes our outlook by creating us anew. In the prodigal son’s unworthiness to be called a son, the father re-instated him to his fallen position, confirming it with a change in outlook.

God’s work of recreation is done in our spirits. He has already hugged and kissed us welcome into His family. However, we need to put up with the life that accompanies the inner work He has done in us.
