Renew your mind
Text: Romans 12:1-2
… Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
MESSAGE
The price was paid to set us free. As part of God’s redemptive work, we have received a new identity.
Because we have been translated to the kingdom of light of His dear Son, we need to set our mind on the things above, where we are seated with Christ Jesus far above the principalities. The depravity of the carnal mind had been trained by the patterns of the world. To focus on the new life you have been called to live, you need to renew your mind.
We need to make our minds new. This deals with the gradual and conscious effort to reformat what you already know with the reading of the word of God and the illumination the Holy Spirit brings.
