Equipped for works of service.

A small church in a poor community felt the call to engage the community and help the pregnant teenagers and drug addicts. Looking at their human and capital resources, they thought they could not carry such a project. In the afternoon of one summer, the pastor received a call from the police. Hurriedly rushing to the location he was informed to get to, he saw his seven year daughter speaking to a group of pregnant teenagers awaiting their turn to abort their babies. She was crying and pleading with them to stop what they were about to do. When the pastor got to the clinic, she asked her daughter what was going on, and she told her dad, “God asked me to come and beg them to stop what they were doing. I may not know how to preach, but I know how to talk, so I am equipped to save another babies life today”.

God has called each and everyone of us for an assignment that He has in mind. Strategically releasing His message at the right time, He knows assuredly well that He has prepared us for the tasks He has assigned to us. Do you know why Christ gave unto the church pastors, evangelists, prophets, apostles and teachers? Let’s find this out…

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians chapter 4 verses 11 to 13.

Christ has given these men unto the body of Christ to equip us for the works of service. Irrespective of who we are and our background, we are to be equipped for the good works that was predestined for us to walk in. Our life is a monument of God’s glory, and is supposed to radiate His glory. In this month, we shall focus on how we can be fruitful as students.
