God richly bless you for joining us in our series. We do hope that you are being blessed. We all face some inadequacies one moment in our lives. In such moments, hope seems to be lost and depression and despair sets in. I must admit that you are not the only in a sort of rollacosta in your life. We all have our share of turmoils, but in different degrees and times. What we go through as believers is in proportion to the grace that God has made available unto us (1 Corinthians 10:13).
We have looked at two prerequisites for abundance. You must identify your needs and not wants and also identify the resources that you have. Today we will move forward to the third prerequisite of abundance.
3. Obey the directions
Every multiplication requires directions to follow. These directions can be from the scripture, the Holy Spirit or through any vessel sent by God. The directions come to align you in the right knowledge and wisdom that can get you to the already prepared state God has for you. The directions would never ask you to do anything contrary to the instructions of God and what He says in His word.
Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”2 Kings 4:3-4 (NIV)
The instructions you may receive will not make sense to the human. Logically, it will defy all the human reasonings and calculations. In such times, God still releases such instructions for us to walk in faith and see His hand. Although you have your last flour and oil, he may instruct you to bake bread for His servant and you will never experience shortage. Really? I’m going to gather sticks and prepare the last mean for my son and I to have our last supper, and here you are asking me to give that last meal (Ref: 1 Kings 17:8-16). It seems harsh to tell a people who are working hard to build their houses after they have been in exile to bring the their tithe (a tenth of what they earn) and offerings to your house so that they shall be abundance of food there (Malachi 1 -3).
However, the promise attached becomes a reality when the instruction is followed. No matter how difficult it is, the Lord shall still fulfil His word that He has sent to you if you can only obey the instruction. Start by being faithful in your tithe and offerings, and pa heed to his instructions to help the poor and the needy. Being selfless to do God’s will sets you up for abundance.
I thank you Lord for your word that I have heard today. I pray that you will grant me the grace to obey your commands that you give me. This and many other blessings I ask in the name of Christ my Lord. AMEN!
If you have not yet received Christ, you have the opportunity to do so. Just pray with me by saying these words aloud:
I thank you Jesus for dying to save a sinner like me. I receive you as my Lord and personal savior. Please come and stay in my heart as we fellowship together. I surrender my will and everything unto you. AMEN!
If you have said these prayers after me, please do find a Bible believing and Holy Spirit filled church to fellowship with. God bless you for taking that step of faith to walk with Christ.
